Pawsitively Pet Sitting 

 We are a new business here in Charleston. We became official in April 2007 and started with our first clients in May 2007! 

 I am Donna Harrison and I have been a pharmacist in South Carolina since 1982.  I currently work at MUSC teaching pharmacy school for the South Carolina College of Pharmacy.  My husband Gary and I enjoy Charleston very much, and we live in West Ashley.

 I am a cancer survivor. I had surgery and chemotherapy for ovarian cancer beginning in May 2005.  I am currently in remission, and am truly thankful for each and every day.  This experience has blessed me with a fresh look at life, and I try to live each day to the fullest, always seeking to find a way to be of service to my fellow man.  Caring for animals is one way I can enjoy the love they have to share, as well as provide a useful service to others.

 I have always loved animals. I grew up in a small town in SC with horses, dogs, cats, fish, and other small animals!  My first very own pet was a wonderful cat named Kelli who passed away at age 18.  Now I have a terrific dog named Jesse who was a Pet Therapy Dog and volunteered with me at the Children's Hospital at MUSC. Jesse now enjoys Dog Agility Trials with my husband is winning ribbons!  Animals have always been a big part of my life, and our dog Jesse is truly part of the family!

 I received a Masters in Arts degree in Business several years ago, and now I have taken this opportunity to start a business of my own.  With the help of my best friends, Martha and Jose and their three children, who live in Mt. Pleasant, and who take care of my special dog Jesse when I'm away, I was able to begin providing this service.  Now that our clientelle has expanded, we have added additional pet-sitters!  We all love pets, and we hope we can take care of yours too!

Our Business

Our business is about taking care of your pets.  We each have our own pets that we love very much. They are part of our family and very important to us. We will take care of your pets the very same as we would like someone to care for our own.

We are bonded and insured through the Business Insurers of the Carolinas, so you can be assured that your home, property, and pets will be cared for and protected.

NAPPS Member 

Pawsitively Pet Sitting is a member in NAPPS, National Association for Professional Pet Sitters. This organization provides much guidance in the Pet-Sitting industry to help us keep abreast of any new or important information.  They have programs to certify pet sitters, so you can be sure our knowledge base regarding how we care for your pet is well founded.

Who We Are Not

We LOVE pets, however we are not Dog Trainers, Pet Psychologists, or Vet Techs!   If your pet has "unusual behavior" or needs medications, we will try our best to work with you and your pet to be able to help you while you are gone.  When we meet you and your pet initially, if we have any doubt that we can provide your pet with the service he/she needs, we will ask for you to pay for an additional "trial run" visit to make sure we can accommodate your pets needs.  We ask for your understanding in helping us to provide excellent care for your pet while you are away!
