PET SITTERS MEETING
OCTOBER 8, 2011
We had our regularly scheduled meeting to prepare ourselves for the upcoming fall and holiday season. We enjoyed learning about several pet-related topics, as well as just learning more about each other and visiting! Debbie enlightened us about Breeding dogs and verifying paternity, Paula gave us an overview of the Charleston Animal Society where she volunteers and where we will donate our Presents 4 Pets collections this year, while Donna provided some information about vaccinations and also about providing "Unbelieveable" Service. We hope that as we learn and grow as pet sitters, we will truly be able to provide you with service that is so good, you will say it's "Unbelieveable"! Everyone was present except Sierra, who was out of town this weekend.
Our October team of pet sitters includes: Back row Left to Right: Paula, Jennifer and Anna; Middle Row Left to Right: Wendy, Debbie, Christie, Holly and Susan; Front row Left to Right: Kimberly and Donna. (Sierra was absent)
PET SITTERS MEETING
APRIL 9, 2011
We had our regularly scheduled pet sitters meeting and amazingly all of our sitters were available to come again! We must have such a great time that folks just can't stay away. As you can see from the photo below, we keep growing! We are up to 12 pet sitters now. We hope we are always availble when you need us and always do an awesome job caring for your pets too! In our meetings, we get to learn from each other. This meeting we learned about Common Pet Emergencies from Jennifer and Clicker Training from Sierra, so we can better care for your pets. We also discussed how to utilize our computer resources wisely to better document our work and share that information with our clients! And of couse, we play some educational games and get to enjoy lunch together. Always a fun time and very educational as well. We hope these meetings will improve our confidence as pet sitters, and make us an even more valuable asset in your pet's care.

PET SITTING VISITOR
November 10, 2010
Today we were so excited to have visit with us Mr. Ken Burger of the Post and Courier newspaper. He writes a feature article and was going along with us on several visits to learn about pet sitting and to write about us in the paper! We are so glad he came along, and we think he learned much about what we do! We visited a home with a large number of cats and dogs, one with one pretty kitty, one with a chocolate lab, and the one above with three sweet doggies! Our pet sitters went about their normal work, and Donna toured him around. We are hoping for a fun article in the Saturday, Nov 13 paper. Look for this on the front of the Local & State section!
PET SITTERS MEETING
OCTOBER 9, 2010
Our regularly scheduled fall meeting was held Saturday October 9. We had the entire team of pet sitters present, which is a first. Usually someone has a conflict that cannot be addressed, but not this time! We had a great meeting, visiting with each other, telling our favorite pet stories, and learning more about each other. Our educational topics included teaching Doggy Manners to our clients' dogs by Anna, and reviewing how to write even better pet notes for our clients. We appreciate the help of Lil Maughan, who gave us wonderful tips on how to write more informative and interesting notes. Wendy discussed our Presents 4 Pets campaign and we all worked on making some drop off boxes. It was a great 2 hours, and hopefully you will see the benefits as we take even better care of your pets!
Our team of pet sitters: Back row Left to right: Jennifer, Donna, Holly, Paula, Debbie. Front row: Anna, Wendy, Meredith, Allison, Sierra. And of course Finn--Anna's dog who came to teach us a Doggy Manners Class!
PET SITTERS MEETING
MAY 22, 2010
Our regularly scheduled Pet Sitters' Meeting was held on Saturday, May 22. We meet to update ourselves on our policies and to renew friendships. Our schedule is always varied, covering the topics we need to refresh ourselves on, and to learn about charitable activities or educational topics. We also celebrated our 3rd anniversary by bringing our own dogs to the outdoor meeting venue! We're all about pets, of course!

Pet Sitting in the SNOW?
Snow in Charleston, South Carolina? Beginning Friday evening, Feb 12, and snowing into the night, we accumulated between 3-5 inches of snow in the Lowcountry. At our home in West Ashley, we woke up to about 3 inches of beautiful white snow on top of the cars. The newspaper reports this as the first measurable snow in 10 years! But don't worry, all of our pet visits were made without difficulty, as snow on the roads began melting off as soon as the sun came up. Donna and Jesse had time to build a snowman, collect snow for "Snowcream", and have a snowball fight with Gary! We hope you all enjoyed the snow, stayed warm, and were safe!
October Pet Sitters' Meeting
October 3, 2009

On October 3, 2009 we held our regularly scheduled Pet Sitters' Meeting. It is always a fun time when our pet sitters from all over the Charleston area to get together to visit and learn with each other. In addition to planning for our holiday coverage, we reviewed our newly published Policy & Procedure Manual to assure that we are all providing consistently outstanding pet care!
Our educational component this meeting was an update on Diabetes Care of our pets. We were excited to have Rebecca Rew, a senior pharmacy student, attend our meeting and present an overview of diabetes treatment in dogs and cats. She has a special interest in veterinary pharmacy and has had additional training in this area. Rebecca provided us with disease information and allowed us to practice drawing up insulin doses. We all feel more confident in caring for pets with diabetes!
We are ready and excited to care for your pets over the upcoming holiday season! Thank you so much for your business!
OUR PET SITTING TEAM (May 2009)

May 16, 2009--We just met for our regularly scheduled educational and organizational update! Our educational topic was "Interpreting Dog Body Language". We are ready to take care of all your pet care needs! Learn more about us on the "Meet Our Pet Sitters" page!
We were delighted to welcome our guest teacher, Mr. Van Sturgeon, with Clarity Canine & Equine, LLC here from Ravenel. Van trains dogs and horses, and shared a wealth of information with our pet sitters about how to better understand and interpret your dogs' body language. He also answered our questions about our clients' pets that will help us with our pet sitting responsibilities. We would like to recommend Van to anyone who could use a little help with their pet behaviors. You may contact him thru his website at www.claritycanine.com or by phone at 843-556-0782.

HOLIDAY TIME!
It's time once again for turkey and dressing, mistletoe and holly, and bubbly champaign! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Christmas and New Year's not far behind, we are getting geared up to spend many holiday hours with your pets so you can visit family and friends! Our phones are already ringing and we appreciate our current clients calling in early to get their visits scheduled. We are always happy to add new clients, and will certainly try to find time for your sweet pets as well if we can. Please call us as soon as you know your travel plans so we can get you on our busy holiday schedule!
Wishing you all much happiness as you look forward to this fun and exciting time of the year!
HAPPY "HOWL"-IDAYS!
PAWSITIVELY PET-CAM
We are adding a new feature to our pet sitting -- Pet-Cam! Have you ever been away from home and ever wondered what you pets were doing while you were gone? I sure have. We've purchased a video surveillance camera that can be remotely accessed that provides our clients with the opportunity to see their pets from anywhere you can access the internet! Interested? Contact us if you'd like more information.
HURRICANE SEASON
June 1 though November 30 each year is hurricane season. We have a disaster preparedness plan in place, do you? We'd like to recommend the following site for you to begin your preparations for your pet's saftey.
Please take a few minutes to visit the following website for good, practical information about assuring your pet is safe.

Other links are available below at the bottom of this page to assist you in your disaster preparedness plans!
DOG WALKING
Dog Walking (Or Puppy Walking--like with Wally here) is not a new service we offer, but we'd like to remind everyone that we can certainly take your best friend out for a mid-day stroll while you are working those long hours at your job. If you're feeling guilty about leaving poor Fido or Fidette kooked up in the house or crate all day, give us a call and we can stop by and take him out for walk to enjoy the beautiful spring weather and get some much needed exercise (for the dog and for us)! Please give us all call if you're in the market for a dog walker. Then we'd also be available when you take those extended trips out of town to pet sit. Let us know if we can help!
IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY !!
WE'RE 4 YEARS OLD

May 2011 marks the FOURTH anniversary of Pawsitively Pet Sitting. You will notice Jesse above wearing our anniversary bandana that we will share with our clients who we visit in May. We have grown from our very first client, Katie and her cat Bandit, to having over 220 clients and over 510 pets..and growing every week! We appreciate so much the trust that our clients have had by requesting our services many times. We hope that our quality of care will only improve with time and experience. Thanks to all of you for making this opportunity available to all of us!
LEGALLY BLONDE for Christmas?
We attended the Broadway production of "Legally Blonde the Musical" this November. It was our Christmas treat to ourselves, and all 10 of us were able to go. What a fun night. To make a great night even better, we were able to go backstage afterwards and visit with Chico and Roxie, the stars of the show as "Bruiser" and his understudy! What a treat!! Thanks so much to William Berloni, owner of Theatrical Animals, whose business is to train animals to perform live on Broadway for making this event so exciting for us and starting out our holiday season so wonderfully!
Chico & Roxie
Below is a better picture of Chico (in the blue) who actually acted on stage that night, and his understudy Roxie (with the cool pink nails). Their personal trainer Patrick Peavey is holding them and was so kind to let us hold and pet them too!
Lowcountry Paws &
Claws PET EXPO
I hope you joined us Saturday, September 18 from 11am to 4pm at the Exchange Park in Ladson for the 2010 Pet Expo presented by the The Post and Courier! We were excited to be able to attend this year's events and met many potential new clients! We had a nice booth, with give-away stickers for the kids, and doggy bones for the puppies! We'll had a few games you can play and lots of information about our service. We also had our Presents 4 Pets boxes available and collected your donations for the shelters.

January 2010
Donna and Wendy attend Conference.

(National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) The program was outstanding, and they both had the opportunity to meet many other professional pet sitters from all over the country, as well as learn many new things to improve and enhance our business. We hope that as we implement a few changes into our system, you will notice that we continue to improve the service we provide and the care we give to your cherished pets. FUTURE
PET SITTERS

Jesse and Donna attended a Brownie Troop #101 meeting at the Pinewood Prep School in Summerville where we were asked to talk about Pet Sitting as a career for women! The girls were so excited to hug and do tricks with Jesse. I'm not sure they know how to start up a business, but I know they enjoyed visiting with and hugging the dog! That's what leads to a great pet sitter anyway! Thanks to their leader Stephanie and all the girls for making us feel so welcomed.
VACATIONERS: DOG WALKING NEEDED?
If you're vacationing in Charleston and would like us to come for a time or two and let your dog out for a potty break/walk while you enjoy the sites of beautiful historic Charleston, let us know! We can come to your pet-friendly hotel, take your pup for a walk.
Pet Friendly Hotels in Downtown Charleston include the Indigo Inn, Best Western, Vendue Inn, and Charleston Place! Hope to meet you & your dog there!
PET FIRST AID

Wendy and Donna completed the Pet First Aid course offered by the American Red Cross for dogs and cats. We certainly hope we never have to use the valuable information we learned, but feel more confident in helping our clients' pets should an emergency occur.

We now can offer overnight stays at your home. We will be in your home at a minimum between 11pm-6am daily while you are away, and additional mid-day visits can be purchased. Call early to schedule as we cannot guarantee availability. Contact us for more information!
